Govannan knives and swords are handmade from 1085 high carbon steel, heat treated to a 50-range Rockwell. The guards and pommels are made from solid steel or brass. The handles are made from ebony or other hardwoods, as noted, or Dymonwood, which is an epoxy resin and wood laminate. Prices for knives range from $75 to $200; swords range from $285 to $400, depending on complexity of design. I welcome custom orders for one of a kind designs and will do my best to create the knife or sword you visualize. Unfortunately, wholesale prices have increased anywhere from 100% to 200%.
