FRIENDS, visitors, customers, gentle readers, all: in January, a mass was removed from Govannan's colon and he is currently undergoing chemotherapy as a precaution against recurrence of the cancer. This means that, for some time, he will be unable to work in his shop. What you see in these pages is what is available at this time. Please do contact us if you see a blade that you would like to purchase. And please watch this site for future announcements as to Govannan's return to his workshop!
Govannan knives and swords are made from 1095 high carbon steel, heat treated to a 50-range Rockwell. The guards and pommels are solid steel or brass. The handles are made from ebony or other hardwoods, or Dymonwood, which is an epoxy resin and wood laminate. Prices for knives range from $85 to $150; swords range from $285 to $350.
